{"id":454,"date":"2009-07-13T20:28:36","date_gmt":"2009-07-14T00:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scriniary.smallinfinity.net\/blog\/?p=454"},"modified":"2009-07-13T20:28:36","modified_gmt":"2009-07-14T00:28:36","slug":"it-could-be-bunnies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elizabethshack.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/13\/it-could-be-bunnies\/","title":{"rendered":"It could be bunnies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Between the shade, the hard rains that smushed the lettuce into the dirt to rot, the bugs carving holes in the rutabaga and cabbage leaves, the squirrels digging up seeds, and something (rabbits?) taking chunks out of almost everything), I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;re going to have much to eat.<\/p>\n<p>Next year, I&#8217;m digging a vegetable bed in the front lawn, since the tomatoes and peppers out there seem to be happy (there&#8217;s a lot more sun).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to build better rabbit fences too &#8211; I haven&#8217;t seen any rabbits in the garden, just the yard, but something&#8217;s eating my veggies.<\/p>\n<p>(My compost pile is doing great.)<\/p>\n<p>Belated garden recordkeeping: <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Planted 4\/25:<br \/>\ncabbage &#8211; doing ok except for the bugs\/rabbits<br \/>\nlettuce (2 kinds) &#8211; only one kind came up?
